Microsoft IT Solutions: MOF Executive Overview
Microsoft IT Solutions: MOF Executive Overview
According to the Solution Accelerator for Intranets Planning Guide, development is only specified at the planning phase under the responsibility of the Architect, developer (cf. "Roles and Responsibilities" p.11) and does not exist at the Operations phase (cf. "Solution Accelerator for Intranets Operations Guide")
The Application level development role or the Business Consulting role do not exist in the "Microsoft Operations Framework" (cf. "Team Model for Operations". http://www.microsoft.com/technet/itsolutions/cits/mo/mof/moftml.mspx)
The role clusters include the following:
• Release
• Infrastructure
• Support
• Operations
• Security
• Partner
• Service
In other words, past the planning phase, which is covered by the Microsoft Solutions Framework, not the Microsoft Operations Framework, there is no requirement for continuous development.
Since EPO has recently applied the PRINCE2 standard to it's Project Management, it makes a lot of sense to also align our IT practices to industry best practice standards.
